Braised Duck Leg

Was out almost the whole afternoon today doing some shopping. Bought myself a decent set of knives for the kitchen. Maybe I’ll blog about that later once I have used it a few times.

Anyway, was at Carrefour and manage to find some frozen Duck Legs. Duck parts is something I can’t really find at the neighbourhood NTUC. Ducks are almost always sold whole so seeing the frozen parts, I immediately bought a pack home to try out.

So here you go, my braised duck leg dinner. A first attempt at it though as the only other duck dish is know is ginger duck.

Didn’t really know how to cook the duck initially. Seen quite a few recipes for ducks from books as well as on the internet but unfortunately it was either way too complicated or I didn’t have the necessary ingredients.

So I just did a quick seasoning with salt and black pepper, browned it in a pan and finally braised it with sauteed onions and chicken stock. So luckily it came out decent (at least for myself and the mrs).

Well, still got 2 more duck legs in the freezer. Maybe I can attempt a roast duck leg for those….
