My First Steak Attempt
This is what I had for dinner tonight. Steak, and yes I cooked it myself. It’s loosely based on the Steak Diane recipe from Gordon Ramsay’s Cookalong series. You can find the original recipe here.
Loosely based cause I don’t have all the ingredients in hand. Replaced the single cream with whipping cream (bad idea I tell you.) and missing a key ingredient, cognac. I didn’t have any cognac left other than my unopened Cordon Bleu which I really didn’t feel like opening up to use on my first steak attempt.
Anyway, the dish turned out fine albeit a little sweet (due to the cream) and the colour is not as nice and rich (I’m blaming it on the cream again) as Gordon Ramsay’s dish. So the next time I attempt steak, I’ll be sure to follow the recipe more religiously. Time to get some cognac!!
